NORFOLK, Va. – Virginia lawmakers Wednesday are selecting whether to agree with Gov. Northam and legalize cannabis on July 1.
Northam amended laws passed by the General Assembly to transfer up the legalization date from 2024 to 2021. In buy for the amended laws to choose outcome, lawmakers have to vote to approve.
A near vote is expected in the Senate and could appear down to Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax breaking a tie, which he has stated he would vote in favor.
